The OWASP MASVS (Mobile Application Security Verification Standard) is an industry standard designed for mobile app security, helping architects, developers, and testers ensure secure mobile application practices. It consists of various control groups focusing on critical areas of mobile security, such as storage, cryptography, authentication, network security, platform interaction, code security, resilience to attacks, and user privacy. Additionally, the OWASP MAS project provides supporting documents like the Mobile Application Security Testing Guide (MASTG) and the Mobile Application Security Weakness Enumeration (MASWE). The MASVS has undergone updates, with the previous verification levels replaced by new 'MAS Testing Profiles.' The OWASP MAS Checklist will temporarily retain the old verification levels.
